11 Best Buy Now, Pay Later, Clothes Stores With No Credit Check 2024

Buy Now, Pay Later is a type of financing that allows you to purchase products without paying for them entirely upfront. With Buy Now, Pay Later, you’ll typically pay $0 or a small payment upfront, completing the rest of the payments over the next few weeks or months.

Buy Now, Pay Later is also known by its acronym: BNPL. Sometimes, you’ll see it referred to as SNPL (Shop Now, Pay Later).

It’s important to differentiate BNPL from regular loans. BNPL doesn’t necessarily require a hard credit check.

While BNPL providers typically do a soft credit pull to check your overall financial health, those inquiries won’t show up on your credit report, and they won’t ruin your credit score. Furthermore, since they’re not hard credit checks, it’s possible to qualify even with poor credit.

Many clothing stores offer a BNPL option. Some offer financing themselves, while others partner with larger providers to offer it.

The stores that offer their own financing options often require a good credit score and make a hard credit check; they may also require you to sign up for a store credit card.

Fortunately, however, there are plenty of clothing brands and stores, including famous ones, that offer BNPL with no hard credit check. Here are more than 11 great stores to buy from.

Best Buy Now, Pay Later, Clothes Stores With No Credit Check

1. H&M

H&M is one of the most popular clothing retailers in the United States, with an online store and physical branches spread across the nation. It’s actually a Swedish retailer, and it has around 5,000 stores in over 70 countries.

H&M offers a BNPL option, whether you are buying from the H&M website or in a physical store near you. Its BNPL program is offered through Klarna, a well-known BNPL loan provider.

Therefore, you’ll need to create an account with Klarna.

There are two ways to pay later when purchasing H&M products. What many people do is split the payment into four installments.

Under that plan, you’ll make the first purchase right away, and the other three purchases over the next six weeks. Every two weeks, you’ll pay a quarter of the total payment.

No interest will be charged, and Klarna will only perform a soft inquiry. The same applies to the second option: paying 30 days later.

This option is also very popular, as it gives you a 30-day window to pay.

H&M’s return policy generally allows you to return products for refunds within 30 days. As such, the “Pay in 30 Days” option proves very useful: It allows you to try out a product and only pay when you are sure you want to keep it.

You also get the option to “snooze” your payment by 10 days, giving you more time to pay.

Once you sign up for a Klarna account, you’ll be able to take advantage of BNPL at a wide range of other brands that also work with Klarna. Some famous fashion and clothing stores that offer BNPL via Klarna include:

  • SHEIN
  • 12TwentyTwo
  • Good American
  • Abercrombie and Fitch
  • Adidas
  • And many others!

You can see a full list of clothing stores available here. None of them require a hard credit check for the above two BNPL options.

Some stores may also offer monthly financing, which gives you up to 36 months to pay off your purchase, instead of just 30 days or six weeks. That also doesn’t require a hard credit check; availability of BNPL options can vary from store to store.

Note that Klarna will conduct a hard credit check when applying for a Klarna credit financing account, so don’t do that.

2. Macy’s

Macy’s is an American clothing store that is a recognized brand across the nation. With over 500 stores, including many neighborhood stores, it’s a popular place for many to shop.

Macy’s has a wide range of fashion products, clothing, and accessories for both men and women. Men’s clothes include:

  • Belts
  • Shoes
  • Bottoms
  • Tops
  • Coats
  • Jeans
  • Jackets
  • And a lot more

Women’s clothes include:

  • Jeans
  • Pajamas
  • Flip-flops
  • Sandals
  • Jumpsuits
  • Dresses
  • And a lot more

In addition, it’s also possible to buy perfume, handbags, jewelry, and kids’ clothing.

To buy now and pay later at Macy’s, you can use Zip.co. Formerly known as Quadpay, it is a BNPL loan provider that works with a number of clothing stores.

Zip won’t perform a hard credit check when you apply, though it will run a soft credit inquiry. When paying with Zip, you’ll pay 25% of the product you buy from Macy’s upfront, with the rest paid off over the upcoming six weeks.

As an aside, Macy’s has also partnered with Klarna, which I mentioned above, to provide a BNPL option to customers both online and in-store. If you don’t want to use Zip for whatever reason, or if you are shopping in-store, I recommend using Klarna.

The payment schedule is the same with both providers: The first payment will be due right away, and the other three payments over the next six weeks.

One thing worth noting is that when you sign up for Zip, you’ll also be able to purchase from other clothing stores, including Nordstrom and Nike, and pay later.

3. Stoneberry

Stoneberry is a site that sells a variety of products under its different brands. Here are the brands you can find on Stoneberry.com:

  • Stoneberry
  • Masseys
  • K-Jordan
  • Fifth Glam
  • Mason Easy Pay

Some products you can buy on Stoneberry and its subdomains include:

  • Hoodies
  • Sweatshirts
  • Boots
  • Sandals
  • Handbags
  • Jewelry
  • Watches
  • Perfumes
  • And a lot more

Items are available for men, women, and children.

Getting approved for a Stoneberry or Mason Easy Pay credit line gives you access to the entire family of Stoneberry brands. Payments start at just $5.99/month, and you can get pre-qualified instantly.

Stoneberry won’t do a hard pull on your credit report, only a soft inquiry, which means that applying won’t affect your overall credit score at all. Not everyone will be approved, but if you are, you can get access to a credit line of up to $1,000.

4. Tobi

Tobi is a women’s clothing and fashion store that sells items like:

  • Wedding dresses
  • Prom dresses
  • Tees
  • Sweatshirts
  • Jeans
  • Lingerie
  • Pants
  • High-heeled shoes
  • Sandals
  • Other accessories

It has partnered with Sezzle to offer a BNPL option to all customers in the United States. When you check out with Sezzle, Sezzle will pay Tobi the entirety of the order and collect the rest of the money from you later.

Sezzle doesn’t run hard credit checks, only soft ones, so signing up for a pay-in-four plan won’t hurt your credit score. It also won’t help you improve your credit score.

The exception to the last point is if you qualify for Sezzle Up, in which case Sezzle will start reporting your payments to all major credit bureaus. On-time payments will then help you build your credit score.

When you apply and get approved, you will get a certain balance in your Sezzle Spend account. This isn’t actual money, but a limit to how much you can spend on Sezzle BNPL purchases.

You won’t have to pay interest when using Sezzle.

Sezzle also works with tens of thousands of other stores, including many clothing and fashion stores for men, women, and kids. Some of those stores include:

  • Quince
  • UNTUCKit
  • Touch of Modern
  • Ministry of Supply
  • Jamie Kay

Go to Sezzle Shop to check out the other brands working with Sezzle at the moment.

5. Rat & Boa

Another popular buy now pay later shops is Rat & Boa.

Rat & Boa is a women’s clothing company that brands itself as “bold and spirited.” It’s got beautiful dresses, beach outfits, swimwear, and collections that will wow everyone around you and instantly turn you into a supermodel.

Rat & Boa offers several financing options to customers. US customers can select Splitit at checkout to make small monthly payments – with no interest – to pay off the purchase.

The good part about using Splitit to shop on Rat & Boa is that no credit checks will be required at all – not even a soft credit check! That’s because Splitit works with your existing credit cards.

As long as you have a credit card, it doesn’t matter how poor your credit is – you can use Splitit to buy now and pay later. That’s what sets it apart from many other companies.

If you don’t yet have a credit card, you can always open a secured line, even with no credit history or bad credit.

How it works is pretty simple. Splitit will put a hold on your credit card for the remaining amount of your due balance and release the hold as you make payments.

Of course, you could always pay directly with your credit card, but then you’d have to pay interest, and you would risk ruining your score if you miss a payment. Splitit won’t charge you any interest.

Also, there are never any late fees.

The only downside is that your current available credit line must be sufficient to cover the entire cost of the purchase. Since a hold will be placed on your card, you also won’t be able to use as much of your credit line on regular purchases.

Once you start using Splitit, you can also use it to shop at other fashion and clothing stores, including:

  • Fashionette
  • August Berg
  • Vestiaire Collective

To see a larger list of fashion and jewelry stores that offer checkout with Splitit, check out this page.

6. Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters is one of the popular clothing shopping sites that give you credit making it easier to buy stuff you want.

Urban Outfitters is a well-known brand in the United States and Europe. While operating in several European countries, as well as the United Arab Emirates, it is headquartered in Pennsylvania.

When checking out, you’ll notice that one of the options is Afterpay. Afterpay is a BNPL provider that Urban Outfitters has teamed up with Afterpay to allow customers to pay for their products in installments of four.

According to Afterpay, it won’t perform any hard checks on your credit, and it’s not guaranteed to even make a soft credit check (it only says it “may” do so). The soft credit check is only one of the numerous factors that Afterpay uses to instantly qualify or disqualify applicants from its short-term financing loans.

When shopping on Urban Outfitters with Afterpay, your payment will be split into four. You’ll make the first payment right away, and you’ll make the other three payments at intervals of two weeks.

As many of you know, Urban Outfitters sells products for men and women like:

  • Tops
  • Skirts
  • Swimwear
  • Shorts
  • Underwear
  • Coats
  • Jackets

Another famous brand that works with Afterpay is ASOS. You can qualify for Afterpay if your ASOS order is between $30 and $1,000.

Just select Shop Pay at checkout. You won’t have to pay any interest, and applying will have no impact on your credit score.

9. Walmart Clothing

Walmart has a pretty extensive clothing section. If you’ve ever walked into a Walmart, you’ll know that it’s a great place to purchase super affordable jeans, shoes, t-shirts, underwear, and a lot more!

Of course, there is an online store as well. You can check out the available products in the Walmart.com clothing section. Clothes, shoes, and bags are available for men, boys, women, and girls of all ages!

Walmart has partnered with Affirm to offer monthly financing to its customers. It’s available in-store, too.

When shopping online, you’ll be able to check out with Affirm and pay over the next 3-24 months. There is an eligibility check, but it won’t have any effect on your credit score, as it’s not a hard credit check.

There are no late fees, though interest rates may apply, depending on the length of your loan and the availability of current no-APR offers. However, all interest fees will be shown to you upfront.

According to Walmart, you may return an item you purchased via Affirm, as long as the refund policy allows it.

What if you just want to pay four installments over the next six weeks, instead of paying off your debt over several months? In that case, you can shop at Walmart using Klarna.

Tradesy, Intermix, and Moda Operandi are some other stores that work with Affirm. See additional brands here.

11. eBay Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories

The Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories section on eBay is a great place to find unbeatable deals. You can find products at all price points and from all over the world.

Whether you’re looking for high-quality, new products, cheap knockoffs, or pre-owned products, you can find them all on eBay Clothing. Products available on eBay Clothing include:

  • Sneakers
  • Handbags
  • Tops
  • Dresses
  • Jeans
  • Sleepwear
  • And more!

You can also find products from your favorite brands. Some of the brand names you can currently find on eBay Clothing include:

  • Adidas
  • Crocs
  • Reebok
  • Puma

eBay used to have a BNPL program called Bill Me Later. It is now called PayPal Credit.

However, PayPal Credit doesn’t interest us for the purposes of this article, as it does typically conduct a hard credit check (though frequent PayPal users may qualify even without a good credit score).

What we are interested in is PayPal’s Pay in 4 program. PayPal has long been associated with eBay, and it’s still one of the best options to use if you want to pay for eBay products over time.

PayPal Pay in 4 doesn’t impact your credit, as PayPal won’t run a hard credit check. However, not everyone will be approved.

It may help to have a PayPal account in good standing.

Of course, PayPal is accepted by many sellers, not only eBay. As eBay gradually moves away from PayPal, you can still use PayPal Pay in 4 at thousands of stores.

Clothing Stores I Did Not Include

You may have noticed that almost all of the brands on this list offer short-term financing options via third-party providers, such as Klarna, Affirm, Zip, Afterpay, and so on. A notable exception is Stoneberry.

That’s because working with such companies generally poses a lower risk to the stores. Mostly, these companies will cover the cost of the loan and then collect payment from you.

That’s what allows you to pay in four installments using PayPal on eBay, even when buying from private sellers. The seller gets their money right away.

PayPal and other BNPL financing companies can give out micro-loans after just soft credit checks. Since such micro-loans are low risk, they don’t need to do any hard credit checks.

There are many other clothing retailers that offer financing directly to consumers, without working with third-party options. However, these stores typically have their own branded credit cards, and applying for those credit cards may be like applying for any other credit card.

You don’t always need good credit to qualify for the credit cards of brands, like the Montgomery Ward Credit account, especially if you agree to make down payments on all the items you buy with the credit card.

However, credit cards and accounts from Montgomery Ward, Monroe & Main, and other brands generally aren’t that good. The stores typically will report to the credit bureaus, and you’re definitely subject to credit approval, though it’s not entirely clear what kind of credit check is made for Montgomery Ward and Monroe & Main.

Since private stores are taking on more risk by issuing you branded credit cards, it’s possible they’ll do a more thorough, hard credit check.

Besides, you can only use those credit lines at those specific stores. Signing up for third-party accounts like Klarna will allow you to shop at thousands of clothing stores.

Wrapping It Up: What Is the Best Buy Now, Pay Later Clothing Store With No Credit Check?

H&M is your best bet. You can use Klarna to buy now and pay later, with two financing options available.

Macy’s is also a good option. Between those two, you are very likely to find clothing you like.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt to expand your options and open accounts with multiple BNPL loan providers.  Since no hard credit checks are involved, doing so won’t hurt your credit score.

What’s more, you get saved from big bank hassles while shopping.
